Chapter 10: Help Me Put It On
Under normal circumstances, there is only one reason for Song Yanzi to take the initiative to come here.
After changing her shoes, Shen Yichi walked inside with his coat in hand, strolling with a leisurely air. In the bright, opulent living room, the television was left on. The woman had kicked off her shoes and was lounging lazily on the sofa. Her posture, though casual and relaxed, retained an elegant and proper grace.
Shen Yichi tossed his coat onto the sofa and sat down beside her. "Why are you here?" As he spoke, he began to unbutton his shirt.
Song Yanzi sat up, a smile tugging at her lips. "I’ve come to apologize to Mr. Shen."
Hearing this, Shen Yichi’s movements paused. He leaned back against the sofa. "Try coming up with a more decent excuse." His mellow voice carried a hint of weariness, his words laced with skepticism. Under the lights, the man’s strikingly handsome face remained emotionless. With two buttons of his shirt undone, his sexy Adam’s apple was exposed.
Song Yanzi sat up and climbed onto his lap with fluid, decisive movements. "I missed our appointment last night due to unforeseen circumstances, so I came specially today to make up for it. Isn’t that a sufficient reason?" As she spoke, her fingers traced his Adam’s apple, stroking it with light, rhythmic touches. Her soft, delicate body pressed against him, and the fragrance uniquely her own wafted to his nose—a scent both cool and aloof, neither trite nor bland. It was a scent that belonged solely to her.
Shen Yichi placed his large hand on the small of her back and pulled her toward him with a slight force, bringing her entire body against his. With less than a centimeter between them, he parted his lips slightly. "Do you think I believe that?"
As the distance closed, the man’s scent washed over her, causing her heart to race involuntarily. In particular, the overwhelming sense of pressure he exuded made it difficult for her to breathe. Song Yanzi took the opportunity to wrap her arms around his neck, kissing the tip of his nose before moving to his thin, firm lips. After a brief kiss, she paused, produced a box, and said with a bewitching charm, "I bought the latest model. Shall we try it?" With that, she gave the box in her hand a playful shake.
The man’s eyes flickered, his voice deepening with desire. "Is it my size?" As he swallowed, his Adam’s apple bobbed, and coupled with his flawless face, the effect was mesmerizing.
Song Yanzi curled her lips. "As a qualified contractor, remembering everything about the client is a requirement."
Their lips met once more. Shen Yichi leaned to her ear, his voice low and languid. "Then you can put it on me yourself." The rich, seductive tone, mingled with his scorching breath, fell into her ear and sent a shiver of numbness through her.
As their kiss grew inseparable, Song Yanzi gasped, "Go take a shower."
The man’s voice was hoarse. "You came early, yet you didn't wash up and wait for me?"
Song Yanzi spoke softly, "I was waiting for you to join me."
From the living room to the upstairs bathroom, the two remained inseparable, leaving a trail of discarded clothing behind them. Men, after all, were easy to coax. As long as he was satisfied, everything else could be negotiated.
Back in bed, Song Yanzi rested in his arms, her slender fingers tracing circles over his abdominal muscles. Shen Yichi worked out, and his physique was superb—possessing just the right amount of firmness.
"I heard you know the principal of No. 1 High School," she said, appearing nonchalant.
The man glanced at her sideways. The woman in his arms looked calm, her beautiful face flushed. Though it seemed like a casual question, it was anything but.
Shen Yichi replied, "Speak your mind."
Song Yanzi did not beat around the bush. "A friend of mine has a child who wants to get in there." If this succeeded, their business cooperation would be a sure thing.
Shen Yichi reached out to cup her chin, forcing her to look at him. Meeting her eyes, he said coldly, "You really don't like to lose out on anything, do you?" She never visited without a hidden agenda. The woman before him was full of schemes.
Song Yanzi reached out and wrapped her arms around his waist. "For you, such a small matter is nothing more than a wave of your hand."
Shen Yichi retorted coldly, "As you said earlier, you came here to apologize and make up for last night, so this doesn't count."
Song Yanzi pouted. "Being this calculating, Mr. Shen is certainly rigorous and meticulous, aren't you?" A stingy, petty man.
Ignoring her sarcastic tone, the man let go and leaned back. "One thing at a time; they cannot be lumped together." A second later, he added, "I haven't even settled the score for you lying to me."
His logic was sound, leaving Song Yanzi with no room to argue. She took a deep breath, climbed onto him again, pressed herself against him, and wrapped her arms around his neck. "This is the payment for your help." Before the words had even faded, she kissed his lips.
The only time Song Yanzi ever took the initiative was when she needed something from him. Soon, Shen Yichi surrendered. Just as he was poised to take the next step, Song Yanzi stopped him. Her breathing was ragged as she confirmed the matter with him once more. Only after receiving a satisfactory and definitive reply was she put at ease.
Shen Yichi was a man of his word; he never went back on his promises. Furthermore, he was highly efficient, and the school enrollment was finalized shortly thereafter. Song Yanzi, too, achieved her goal and successfully secured the contract.
To thank him, Song Yanzi offered to treat him to a meal, but Shen Yichi declined, citing prior engagements. She later learned that the reason he had no time was to attend Sheng Zhiyi’s concert. Sheng Zhiyi was the daughter of the Sheng family and a renowned violinist in the circle. The Sheng family was the only wealthy clan in Rongcheng second to the Shen family; in every aspect, Sheng Zhiyi and Shen Yichi were a perfect match.
It seemed that this time, Shen Yichi truly intended to marry.
After finishing dinner with Nan Xi, Song Yanzi returned to Jinghe Apartments at ten o'clock at night. She was truly startled to find an uninvited guest waiting in her living room.
