Chapter Twenty-Five: The Porcine Adversary
If one were to trace back the timeline, it was likely around the moment the New Universe Garrison clashed with the White Clan warriors that they had already received the message.
"Captain, the clan territory is in critical danger!"
A member of the Elder Guard rushed over, swiftly reporting the news. He was a tall White Clan warrior, his features bearing a striking resemblance to those of the Silver Clan, though a keen observer could discern subtle differences. Upon hearing this, he clenched his fists in rage, his yellow, oval eyes seemingly erupting with flames.
"The New Universe Garrison! How dare they!"
Who would have thought that Jek would choose such an extreme path, even going so far as to drag their White Clan down to oblivion with them?
"Abandon ship! Return to the Land of Light!!!"
Though he was reluctant, the Ultra Sign sent by the White Clan elders pleading for reinforcements left him with no choice; he was forced to issue the order.
"Yes, Captain!" The young White Clan warrior voiced no dissent and immediately moved to relay the command.
However, before he had taken more than a few steps, the Captain called him back.
"Leave a detachment of warriors to guard the starship. We must not let Zoffy and his group escape!"
The order was quickly disseminated. All the White Clan warriors were filled with righteous indignation; Jek had led the New Universe Garrison to bring the flames of war to their ancestral lands, an insult they could not tolerate. Their words were heavy with resentment.
The mobilization proceeded rapidly, and the Captain of the Elder Guard led the vast majority of the warriors off the starship, racing toward the Land of Light.
"Those New Universe Garrison bastards actually dared to attack our territory—it’s truly unforgivable," one of the sentries complained while pacing the prison corridor. Zoffy, held within, heard every word clearly.
His heart sank. Had things truly escalated to this point?
In this place, even Ultra Signs could not be transmitted. They were completely trapped. If they could not escape soon, the situation would spiral out of control, potentially devolving into a chaotic four-way war between the clans.
"I wish I could return to the territory to defend the elders; what is the point of standing guard here?" another White Clan warrior grumbled. "Over a hundred of us were called back, leaving only a few dozen behind, and I’m one of them. Even the original prison guards left with the Captain. What kind of capability does he have?"
"Sigh, and I’m in the same boat. Who would have thought that the damned New Universe Garrison wouldn't be intercepted by the forces led by the Father of Ultra? They actually pulled a sneak attack!"
Is the Father of Ultra definitely going to get involved? Zoffy’s anxiety deepened at the thought. Furthermore, from the words of these two guards, he caught a critical signal: the security on the starship was now woefully negligent!
Most importantly, these two White Clan warriors lacked any real guard experience, which solidified Zoffy’s resolve.
"Zoffy, have you thought of a way out?" Ultraman stepped forward, looking at Zoffy’s contemplative expression with a hint of anticipation.
He held deep respect for his partner. Zoffy possessed an all-encompassing intellect and even greater combat prowess; his signature M87 Ray was known as the most powerful single-target beam among the Ultra Brothers. He was a warrior who truly combined wisdom and courage—a standard Ultraman felt he himself could not reach.
"We must escape this place immediately and stop all of this," Zoffy said, looking up at Ultraman. "Perhaps I have thought of a few good methods."
Sometimes, what brings you victory is not your own or your partner's cleverness and bravery, but the pig-like intelligence of your opponents.
Such situations are quite common. Sometimes, when playing a game, you might collapse in despair, realizing that no matter how much of a god you are, you cannot salvage the situation because your "pig teammates" are constantly dragging you down.
Lacking the might of the Red Clan, the wisdom of the White Clan, and the endurance of the Blue Clan, their so-called leadership was merely a title they had bestowed upon themselves. In truth, setting everything else aside, they were simply a group of failures within the Land of Light.
Unfortunately, the White Clan warriors were highly deserving of this label. They were even more inept than the Blue Clan; it was only their status as nobles and the presence of the elders that allowed them to be tolerated by the rulers of the Land of Light, and which commanded a veneer of respect from the other three clans.
In this situation, that state of affairs was demonstrated to the fullest extent. They were performing the role of "pig teammates" with remarkable competence.
As to how to escape the cell, Zoffy and Cupid had arrived at the same idea, yet it was successful once again!
As a White Clan warrior nervously opened the metal door, the same thought flashed through the minds of Zoffy and Ultraman: *These fools.*
Even as they thought this, they hurriedly hid in the shadows, waiting for the moment to strike.
"What is going on!?"
The two White Clan dunces—warriors—rushed into the cell, only to be stunned for a moment. Before them, there was absolutely nothing.
"Not good!" one of the warriors realized, just as he was about to turn his head, a sound erupted from behind him.
"Boom!"
Zoffy leaped up, kicking his opponent to the floor, while on the other side, Ultraman retracted his hand-blade; beside him, the second White Clan warrior collapsed limply to the ground.
"Find the keys!"
They were not in a rush to flee; the situation was different from when Cupid had escaped. There were only a few dozen White Clan warriors left on the warship, and even if they rushed over, it would take time—if they were all as incompetent as these two, then they wouldn't even need to run; dealing with them shouldn't be a problem.
"Here!"
Soon, Ultraman held up a ring of keys, saying to Zoffy with delight.
"Good! Now, let’s go save the others immediately!"
Before long, their partners were freed. A battered Seven 21 looked at Zoffy in astonishment and asked, "How did you manage this?"
Zoffy shrugged and replied, "The Captain of the Elder Guard took most of the White Clan warriors back to the Land of Light to defend their territory. As for me, I just used a little trick."
Hearing Zoffy’s brief explanation, Seven 21 was left speechless, feeling that these White Clan warriors truly had forgotten the pain as soon as the wound had healed.
"Let's go. We must return to the Land of Light as quickly as possible; we have to stop all of this from happening!"
