Volume One, Chapter Four: Are You Here for My Sister Too?
Page 1/3
The moment those words left his mouth, Song Siyen, who had been leaning lazily against the wall, immediately straightened up. He looked coldly at Song Zhuo and said, “So you finally reveal your true colors? You’ve been pretending since the airport, haven’t you?”
Song Zhuo replied, “Big brother, you haven’t answered my question. Do I owe her anything?”
She looked at Song Min and repeated, “Song Min, do I owe you? Did I cause you to live in poverty and hardship for more than ten years?”
Song Min shook her head at once, her eyes red as she spoke softly, “No, sister, you never owed me anything. It was my fate that was unfortunate, all my own fault.”
As she cried, everyone in the Song family looked at her with pity.
Jiang Zhiyi stepped forward and embraced her. “What do you mean your fate is unfortunate? You were born into the Song family and should have been raised with gold and jade. How could your fate be unfortunate?”
She then glanced at Song Zhuo with a hint of disappointment and anger. “Zhuo Zhuo, how can you treat your sister like this? Hasn’t she suffered enough over the years? Why do you have to make things difficult for her?”
“Mom, I’ve said it before. A dog can’t change its habit of eating shit. Song Zhuo has been domineering since childhood; it’s her nature, it can’t be changed,” Song Siyen sneered, his gaze sweeping across the room.
Song Sinian stood beside Song Zhuo, his face darkening. “Zhuo Zhuo, what you said just now was too much.”
Song Zhuo lowered her head, a mocking smile curling on her lips.
Five years.
She thought that this time, when they took her back, they had finally uncovered the truth from five years ago.
She thought this would be a day of family reunion, a day for apologies and reconciliation.
But unexpectedly,
It was just like five years ago.
Nothing had changed.
Although she was clearly not at fault, they all sided with Song Min.
Whenever she cried, every member of the Song family would revolve around her.
Whenever she felt wronged, she became the one at fault.
She retracted the smile on her face and slowly lifted her eyes, cold and sharp. “Second brother only said that what I said was excessive, but he didn’t say what I said was wrong. So, does that mean I’m right?”
“All her suffering, it wasn’t caused by me.”
“If anyone is at fault, isn’t it the father who insisted on going back home to show off even though his wife was in late pregnancy?”
“Isn’t it the mother’s fault for not taking good care of the child?”
“Isn’t it the two brothers’ fault for not realizing that the younger sister was taken from the delivery room?”
“Thousands of faults, but it can’t possibly be the fault of a newborn baby like me, right?”
Her gaze slowly swept over the Song family.
Everyone’s expression turned particularly unpleasant.
“Just because I was born with her, just because she was the one taken away, does that mean it’s my fault?”
“Or is it because we are twins, and I naturally owe her…”

Smack!
Before Song Zhuo could finish, Song Lin’an raised his hand and struck her hard across the face, causing her head to jerk to one side.
“Shut up!”
“If I had known you were such a bastard, I’d rather it have been you taken away back then!”
“Husband!” Jiang Zhiyi stopped Song Lin’an.
Those words were truly heartless.
She looked at Song Zhuo and comforted her, “Zhuo Zhuo, your father didn’t mean that. Both you and Min Min are our children. Whoever was taken away, we would both be heartbroken.”
“We just feel sorry that Min Min has suffered so many years outside.”
Song Zhuo raised her hand to wipe the blood from the corner of her mouth. “I know. You feel sorry for her and want to make up for her. But that’s no reason for you to bully me.”
She looked at Song Lin’an.
The slap he had just dealt left Song Lin’an feeling guilty.
After all, she had been his biological daughter, raised by his side for more than a decade, cherished like a gem.
He had never so much as laid a finger on her.
This slap hurt him too.
But…
This daughter was utterly shameless.
If he didn’t discipline her properly, who knows what she’d grow into.
“You hit me, not because I said anything wrong.”
“But precisely because what I said hit a nerve and made you angry…”
“Ungrateful daughter!” Song Lin’an raised his hand again, but when he saw her swollen, reddened face, he couldn’t bring himself to strike.
“You… you… you come back and stir up so much trouble. What exactly do you want?”
He glanced at Wen Huaiye standing nearby and sneered, “Do you think because you have the Wen family as your backing, you can leave the Song family now?”
Wen Huaiye looked at the slap mark on Song Zhuo’s face with pity. He reached out and took her hand. “I, Wen Huaiye, will always be Song Zhuo’s support.”
But Song Zhuo saw Song Min’s face instantly turn as pale as paper.
Not only Song Min, but the other Song family members also looked particularly grim.
Song Siyen tried several times to speak but was stopped by Song Min.
“Zhuo Zhuo, let’s go.” Wen Huaiye held her hand and turned to leave.
“Since the Song family is not sincerely welcoming you back, I’ll take you away.”
But Song Zhuo stood still.
Wen Huaiye’s face showed confusion. “Zhuo Zhuo?”

Song Zhuo lowered her eyes. “After all, this is my home.”
Wen Huaiye lowered his head and stared at her for a long moment. “Fine! If you want to stay, then stay. If it’s uncomfortable living here, just tell me. I’ll come take you away.”
Song Zhuo nodded.
Wen Huaiye took out his phone without bothering to hide it from the Song family and immediately instructed Secretary Sun to send over a full set of furniture and this season’s brand-name clothes and jewelry.
Half an hour later, the once empty room was filled to the brim.
The walk-in closet was dazzling and fully stocked.
“Miss, this suitcase…”
The servant hesitated, looking at the suitcase resting in the corner.
The suitcase and its contents seemed completely out of place in this room.
Song Zhuo said, “Leave it there.”
The servant nodded and turned to leave.
Song Zhuo turned to the others. “The flight was too long. I’m going to freshen up.”
With that, she shut the door without paying attention to the Song family or Wen Huaiye. Faint voices could still be heard outside.
“At the airport, she was just pretending. What kind of attitude is that!” Song Siyen was furious.
“Big brother, didn’t you arrange Zhuo Zhuo’s room? Don’t you think you went too far?” Song Sinian’s voice was not soft.
“She’s always been like this, domineering.”
“We spoiled her in the past.”
Song Zhuo leaned against the wall, her eyes lowered, silently listening to the noisy voices outside.
Finally, she heard the voice she most wanted to hear.
“Huaiye, did you come for sister?” Song Min’s voice was gentle but filled with disappointment.
Even without seeing it herself, Song Zhuo could imagine how pitiful and heart-wrenching she must look now.
The noisy voices outside instantly fell silent.
Wen Huaiye said, “Don’t you know whether I came for her?”
“If I hadn’t come, how would I know how capable you are! Pretending to welcome Zhuo Zhuo back in front of me, but making moves behind her back.”
Song Min’s tone became frantic. “It wasn’t me, I…”
Song Zhuo didn’t listen to the rest. Her expression unchanged, she turned and entered the walk-in closet.
