“Everyone inside, don’t do anything rash! What exactly do you want?”
When the police saw that the dozen-odd men were all strapped with TNT bombs, they hurriedly withdrew one carriage away. The officers and passengers in the original carriage were evacuated to another, far from these bastards, while the police used loudspeakers to shout at the criminals inside.
As I watched the men standing in the aisle and looked at the bombs strapped to their bodies, I wondered why they would abandon peaceful lives to commit such acts of terror. Did none of them have families? And if they did, had their families simply ignored them?
“Fine. We know there are plenty of rich people in the first-class carriage. Just have them get us five million!”
Their thick Province S accent made me want to hide my face in shame. How had our good Province S produced such a nest of scum?
At first, I thought they had been acting under someone else’s orders. I never expected that they were all volunteers. In the end, their goal was simply to take the money belonging to the wealthy passengers in first class.
Unfortunately for them, this group had been rather unlucky. They had thought they could sneak into first class, but the tickets they bought had assigned them to Carriage Thirty-Two, thirty-one carriages away from the first-class carriage.
By then, it was already afternoon. Although the train had passed through several stations and several groups of police officers had taken turns handling the negotiations, the results were minimal. In the end, the officers collected five million in cash from the wealthy passengers in first class and brought it to the terrifying Carriage Thirty-Two.
These rich men were all major businessmen, and each of them carried several million in cash.
When they learned that the bomb-wearing criminals were targeting them, they were frightened as well.
To prevent the criminals from blowing up the train and sending everyone aboard straight to hell, they had no choice but to gather five million and hand it over to the officers who had come to negotiate.
The five million in cash was packed into a silver case. Escorted by the police, it was brought to Carriage Thirty-One. After discussing the matter, the officers decided to find someone to enter Carriage Thirty-Two and negotiate with the criminals.
At that moment, everyone inside Carriage Thirty-Two was lying flat over their seats. The only things still in the aisle were the corpse of the patrol officer and the criminal who had been shot dead. The remaining criminals were hiding behind the seats with their guns in hand. Apparently, the sniper outside had frightened them badly.
As luck would have it, one of the criminals was hiding across from Lu Yao and me, gun in hand. His face was unbelievably weathered and sleazy. After sweeping his shifty little eyes around the carriage, he fixed his gaze on Lu Yao’s breasts and did not move.
“Heh heh heh. What lovely fair skin, and such a pretty little thing. Come here and let Uncle have a feel!”
His black hand reached toward Lu Yao’s chest. Terrified, Lu Yao burrowed into my arms, trying to evade the filthy hand.
“Fine, then. I’ll kill your boyfriend first. Let’s see how you resist after that!”
After saying this, the lecherous man pressed his gun against my forehead. Lu Yao was so frightened that she did not dare move. Like a terrified kitten, she lay motionless in my arms.
“Bastard, move that gun away. I hate having things pressed against my head!”
After speaking, I stared directly at the lecherous man. I knew that provoking him would only make him more agitated, and that the possibility of his firing would rise from zero to one hundred.

Who was I? I was the Demon Corpse King. The innate speed of the Demon Corpse clan was no joke. Forget guns—even rockets could not kill an undead creature like me. That was why I was confident I could catch the bullet the instant it left the barrel, within 0.000001 seconds of the lecherous man pulling the trigger.
“Damn you, you’re forcing me to do this!”
Bang!
“Ah!”
After the lecherous man spoke, the gunshot rang out, followed by Lu Yao’s terrified scream. It was obvious that she had truly been frightened this time.
“Dogsheng, what the hell are you doing?”
A burly man hiding behind another seat roared at the lecherous man in front of me. But the man called Dogsheng did not answer. He merely stared at my hand, which held a brass-colored bullet between two fingers. I was sitting exactly where I had been, completely unharmed.
“I told you. I hate people putting things against my head!”
As soon as I finished speaking, the bullet in my hand shot from my fingers. Infused with a trace of supernatural power, it entered the lecherous man’s throat.
With a gurgling sound, the lecherous man, Dogsheng, died on the spot. His head slammed into the floor of the aisle, and the blood flowing from his mouth spread across the ground, staining a large patch red.
“Dogsheng, what happened? Don’t scare your brother! If you die, how am I supposed to explain it to Mother when I go home?”
A fairly muscular man leaped down from the seats on the opposite side and dragged the dead Dogsheng up with his right hand. He wept as though he were made of tears, and even my heart sank at the sight.
“Dogdan, don’t worry. Once your brother gets this money, I’ll take Mother to the doctor. Dogsheng must have been killed by that kid. Go kill him!”
As soon as Golden Tooth finished speaking, he pointed at me angrily and told the man named Dogdan that I had killed Dogsheng. Then he left Carriage Thirty-Two and walked toward the officer carrying the money in Carriage Thirty-One.
Golden Tooth had been standing in a position where he could roughly see me make my move, so he was certain that I had killed Dogsheng. Even as he passed me, he glared viciously. I imagined he could not understand how I had killed Dogsheng when Dogsheng had been holding a gun.
“Whirr!”
The sound of a blade being drawn came from Dogdan. In an instant, the blade of a Swiss Army knife was before my eyes, while I remained motionless, watching it approach.
“Senior Xiaodong, look out!”
Lu Yao was about to pull my arm inward, trying to make me dodge the blade.
I watched the sharp Swiss Army knife and studied the curve of its attack. Then I smiled, the corner of my mouth lifting as I looked at Dogdan with utter contempt.

It was not that I deliberately wanted to look down on him. I looked down on all criminals. No matter how miserable their families were, the moment they committed a crime, I despised them.
Smack! Crack!
“Ah! My hand! It hurts! It’s dislocated!”
Dogdan’s Swiss Army knife stopped ten centimeters from my forehead. After his hand was dislocated, the knife fell to the floor.
At that moment, one of my hands was gripping Dogdan’s wrist, while my cold eyes stared straight into his.
Everything had been witnessed by Lu Yao, who sat beside me with one hand still clutching my arm. Seeing her astonished expression, I knew she could not believe that beneath my seemingly frail appearance lay such tremendous strength.
Dogdan glared at me furiously. Before long, his eyes met mine in a direct confrontation. He looked into my eyes with the defiant gaze of a man who refused to submit to anyone.
I instantly turned my irises red, then changed them back to normal. Only Dogdan saw the entire process.
“Ah! Mother! I’ve run into a ghost!”
The moment Dogdan saw my eyes, he sprang up from his seat in terror. The enormous force he unleashed actually tore him free from my grasp.
Struggling, Dogdan fled Carriage Thirty-Two and plunged headfirst into the mass of police officers in Carriage Thirty-Three, where he surrendered. Even when his companions shouted after him, he refused to listen.
This proved what an expert had once said: human potential was immense, especially the instinct to survive.
At a critical moment, a person could unleash dozens or even hundreds of times more strength than their body should have been capable of.
