Chapter 93: Sawadee Ka!
Not long after Yang Ye and his group entered the secret realm—
Outside Yang Yu’s estate in the outskirts of Xia Jing, a shifty-looking, middle-aged man dressed in black slipped into a dense grove. Within the woods stood a large-caliber cannon, its barrel aimed squarely at the villa.
A young man with short hair, clad in a black leather jacket, peered through binoculars at the estate ahead.
The middle-aged man approached him and whispered, “Young master, it’s confirmed—Ye and his followers have entered the secret realm, and the entrance has already closed.”
“Excellent!” The young man lowered his binoculars, a cold sneer on his lips. “I’ve waited a month for this. Now, the Jiang family’s vengeance can finally be exacted. I’ll start with Ye’s sister—let him taste the agony of losing a loved one.”
The middle-aged man frowned. “But young master, if we do this, we’ll be fully exposed. The Li and Hu families have already been wiped out by the Patrol Bureau.”
“If you’re scared, you can leave now!” The young man waved him off.
The middle-aged man’s eyes glinted. He smiled. “Young master, with all due respect, you underestimate me. I, Wu Wei, owe the Jiang family everything. In life, I am a Jiang; in death, I am a Jiang’s ghost.”
The young man patted Wu Wei’s shoulder, grinning. “Good. Once we’ve blown up Ye’s sister, we’ll go into hiding, change our names and identities. One day, I’ll kill Ye myself and avenge my grandfather and ancestors!”
This young man in the black leather jacket was Jiang Xiaofeng, grandson of Jiang Wenhao. Gifted in cultivation, he was always kept close by Jiang Zhenghong. Not yet twenty-eight, Jiang Xiaofeng had already reached the late Planetary stage. Had Yang Ye not destroyed the Jiang family and killed Jiang Zhenghong, Jiang Xiaofeng might have advanced to the Stellar stage upon returning from the secret realm.
All his kin had died at Yang Ye’s hand, and the remnants of the Jiang family, upon hearing of Jiang Zhenghong’s death, had scattered to the winds. With his family annihilated and his future ruined, Jiang Xiaofeng’s hatred for Yang Ye ran bone-deep.
Just as Jiang Xiaofeng was about to press the cannon’s firing button, a streak of red light flashed by, severing his arm. The red light circled rapidly and returned to Wang Ping’s hand.
It was only when the pain hit that Jiang Xiaofeng gasped for breath, finally coming to his senses.
“Kid, I’ve been waiting here for you half the day. Who’d have thought someone so young could be so indecisive,” Wang Ping said, shaking her head in disdain.
A twitch flickered at the corner of Jiang Xiaofeng’s eye. He glanced at the firing button and, with his uninjured left hand, slammed it down.
Another flash of red light, and Wang Ping sliced off his left hand as well. Jiang Xiaofeng staggered, armless, and collapsed to the ground. Yet, even with both arms severed, he bore it in silence, without a single cry.
Wang Ping shook her head. “I have no time to waste on you—kill them!”
Before her voice had faded, there were two swift slashes. Two of Wang Ping’s subordinates, both of Super Star rank, appeared and beheaded Jiang Xiaofeng and Wu Wei.
After glancing at the two corpses and then at her subordinates, Wang Ping frowned. “The enemy got this close and you didn’t notice? You’ve grown lax. As punishment, return and do ten thousand push-ups—without using star energy.”
“Yes, ma’am,” the two replied to each other, resigned.
Wang Ping walked to Jiang Xiaofeng’s body, searched him, and retrieved a storage ring.
…
Yang Ye and his companions had entered the secret realm via a black portal on the outskirts of Xia Jing.
Passing through, they found themselves in a world shrouded in gray mist—like a cloudy day on Earth, weighing heavily on the heart.
A mountain range, several hundred meters tall, stretched across the distance a few kilometers ahead. At the mountain’s foot lay rows of wooden houses.
Strong waves of energy pulsed from within the cabins—clearly, many cultivators were training inside.
Just as Yang Ye was about to move forward, a young man about his age emerged from the black portal. His eyes widened, he spat a mouthful of blood, and promptly collapsed.
Zhou Hun shook his head, stepped forward, and nudged the young man with his foot, sending him tumbling back into the nearly closed portal.
Every time the secret realm opened, some curious ordinary folk would sneak in, eager to see what it was like. But the environment inside was utterly different from the outside world—just the pressure alone was more than any normal person could withstand.
Zhou Hun had just saved the young man’s life.
“Let’s go,” Yang Ye said mildly, striding toward the wooden houses.
As they approached, a small, dark-skinned, middle-aged man with a white cloth wrapped around his head came over, chattering at them in a language Yang Ye didn’t understand, his hands waving impatiently.
Although Yang Ye couldn’t comprehend the words, he could guess the meaning from the man’s gestures and impatient expression.
“Chief Ye, he’s an Indian. He says this is Lord Samir’s cultivation ground and we should leave,” one subordinate who understood Hindi translated.
Yang Ye’s group had all concealed their auras.
For Yang Ye and Long Xiaoqing, it mattered little—even without hiding their energy, no one present could discern their true cultivation.
As for Zhou Hun and the others, they practiced the technique imparted by Steward Mu. This technique wasn’t just for show; Zhou Hun and the rest found that by regularly “hiding their aura,” the loss of energy into the star sea diminished, and their bodies grew stronger.
After long practice, even eating and sleeping, the star power in their meridians circulated along fixed routes, slowly and steadily enhancing their physical forms.
The Indian cultivator, late in the Stellar stage, mistook Yang Ye’s group for nobodies, and his attitude was openly hostile.
He had reason to be arrogant. Yang Ye could sense clearly that in one of the cabins ahead, an Indian cultivator’s star power had reached the Super Star late phase—his inner star was even more stable than He Wei’s.
In such matters, Yang Ye never endured disrespect in silence. After hearing the translation, his expression darkened.
With a flash, Zhou Hun stepped forward and slapped the Indian across the face. The man fell, clutching his cheek, staring dully at Yang Ye’s group.
Yang Ye barely spared him a glance before moving on.
Seeing their companion struck down, a group of Indian cultivators brandished their curved blades and surrounded them.
Suddenly, the wooden door creaked open, and a tall, short-haired man, bare-chested and dressed in loose white trousers, emerged.
There was no need to ask—Yang Ye knew this was Samir. The quality of star power radiating from him far surpassed that of an ordinary Stellar cultivator.
Samir’s icy gaze swept over Yang Ye’s party.
Zhou Hun, catching Samir’s look, cracked his knuckles and sneered at the Indian cultivators. “What, you want to fight?”
As he spoke, Zhou Hun unleashed his star power.
With Zhou Hun revealing his cultivation, the other twenty-nine members did the same.
Thirty Super Stars!
Samir’s expression changed instantly, his jaw dropping in shock.
When the secret realm opened this time, Samir and his followers hadn’t left, and none of the other countries’ cultivators had told him what had happened in the outside world.
Thus, Samir had no idea that Earth now boasted a “great demon king” named Yang Ye.
But after witnessing the might of Yang Ye’s group, Samir’s shock gave way to a warm smile. He pressed his palms together and bowed to Yang Ye. “Sawasdee ka!”
Yang Ye was momentarily stunned. Damn—it’s not even the right language! Isn’t that Thai?
