Chapter Seventeen: I Asked You to Teach Me to Drive, Not to Have a Car Shake—What’s Going On?

Every industry has its share of “chaos,” and some people like to exploit their positions to harass members of the opposite sex. For example, certain fitness instructors at gyms, especially those teaching yoga, tend to use their guidance of poses as an excuse to grope. Similarly, driving instructors like Gu Yin often take advantage of situations inside the car—such as fastening a female student’s seatbelt or adjusting her seatback—to gain improper benefits.
Although Gu Yin swore he had no intention, not even a tiny one, of taking advantage of Xia Qianyi, the way he adjusted the seatback now... admittedly, it did feel at least a little ambiguous. Moreover, as he stood up, his eyes were fixed on Xia Qianyi’s delicate, elfin face, and he was momentarily stunned.
[You bastard…] A group of crazed fans had already erupted with curses in the comments section, but Gu Yin remained completely oblivious.
Inside the car, the air seemed to freeze. Gu Yin stared blankly at Xia Qianyi, while she blushed and occasionally glanced up at him.
After a long pause, Xia Qianyi finally said, “Have you looked enough?”
“Ah, cough... well...” Gu Yin suddenly snapped out of it, awkwardly shrinking back into the passenger seat, rubbing his nose as he stammered, “I was just teaching you how to adjust the seatback. You, you shouldn’t misunderstand.”
“No, no misunderstanding,” Xia Qianyi replied awkwardly.
She faced away from Gu Yin, gazing out the window, but a faint blush had spread over the swan-like white neck, as if her cheeks’ shame had stained it.
“Ahem, continue, continue. You adjust the seatback,” Gu Yin said, pulling out his thermos and attempting to ease the awkwardness by taking a sip of water.
“Okay,” Xia Qianyi nodded, her fair, jade-like hand feeling around for the seatback controls under Gu Yin’s direction.
While searching, she asked, “What angle should I adjust it to?”
Gu Yin replied casually, “Whatever feels comfortable for you when you drive.”
“Alright,” Xia Qianyi said.
To be honest, she hadn’t really been paying attention to Gu Yin’s instructions earlier, perhaps distracted by the ambiguous nature of his “embrace.” So now, she was relying on herself to find the control.
She kept feeling around...
Finally, she found the hard button.
But perhaps due to her posture, it was a bit difficult to manipulate.
Why did it feel... hard to push?
Furrowing her brows and exerting effort, Xia Qianyi pressed hard...
“Click!”

A crisp sound rang out.
“Ah!”
Followed by a startled scream.
“Bang!”
Then came a muffled thud...
Gu Yin: “???”
When Gu Yin turned to look, what he saw completely shattered his understanding as a driving instructor over the past two or three years.
There was Xia Qianyi, who had been adjusting the seatback, somehow now lying down along with it, reclining fully in the driver’s seat.
At that moment, Gu Yin was stunned.
Not only him—the fans who had been swearing just moments ago were now utterly entertained by this unexpected “show,” flooding the chat with messages:
“Wait, goddess, it’s just driving lessons. Why are you making it a spectacle?”
“Pfft... has Xia Qianyi always been this abstract? So lively?”
“Ahahaha... slacking off at work this morning, laughed so hard my boss caught me and rewarded me with Word documents I love to do...”
...
“You… find lying down comfortable when driving?” Gu Yin finally blurted out, barely holding back his amusement as he looked at Xia Qianyi sprawled across the driver’s seat.
“I’m not, I…” Xia Qianyi wanted to escape the earth earlier, but now she probably wished she could flee the entire galaxy to avoid this embarrassment.
So humiliating!
After “blocking my heart,” “thigh touching,” and “wrong seatbelt,” she’d now managed to make a joke out of adjusting the seatback.
Even though it was only the two of them in the car!
The feeling of embarrassment was deeply ingrained.
At this moment, every glance Gu Yin cast her way made her feel utterly mortified.
“Sleepy?”
The worst part was, instead of comforting her, Gu Yin piled on, teasing:
“Didn’t sleep well last night, huh?”
“Why don’t you just take a nap first?”

“Looks like this seat is even more comfortable than your bed at home…”
With a sarcastic tone, he took another sip from his thermos, completely unhurried.
Not only did Xia Qianyi feel the sting of his mockery, but even the viewers watching through the screen seemed to sense Gu Yin’s sarcastic attitude.
Yet no one felt offended on behalf of their goddess Xia Qianyi.
[Pfft… hahaha!] Everyone was laughing!
It was just too funny!
Xia Qianyi: “……”
Perhaps by coincidence, her bright eyes flicked over to the “Reconcile with Life” live stream camera on Gu Yin’s chest.
At that moment, she subconsciously thought, thankfully this guy was just an ordinary driving instructor with probably few viewers on his stream. Otherwise, a major star like herself making so many blunders would be a huge embarrassment!
Her pink lips puckered in defiance as she shot Gu Yin a glare and said, “Do you have to say it like that?”
To be honest, Xia Qianyi was looking up at Gu Yin from a reclining position, which made her feel almost “looked down upon” and quite offended...
As she spoke, she tried to sit up, but the seatback button was too hard to find, and the seatbelt held her firmly in place. After struggling for a while, she was still stuck lying down.
“Pfft...” Gu Yin laughed at her predicament and teased, “If someone didn’t know better, they’d think I’d kidnapped you.”
Xia Qianyi’s struggles in the driver’s seat were comical beyond words. The more Gu Yin watched, the harder he laughed, eventually covering his head and shaking with uncontrollable laughter.
“Why are you laughing? Hurry up and get me up!”
Xia Qianyi had never encountered such an awkward situation before in her life. It was so humiliating she felt like she’d lost face all the way to her ancestors. She couldn’t accept it and raised her voice.
It’s worth mentioning that maybe because Xia Qianyi was struggling so much, the Jieda driving school car started to shake slightly.
Outside the car, Xia Qianyi’s assistant, the chubby Mengmeng, was waiting. The car’s soundproofing was good, and the tinted black windows made it impossible to see inside. So at first, Mengmeng was just waiting patiently.
But suddenly—
The car! The Jieda driving school car!—
Started shaking and wobbling!
Mengmeng: “???”
At that moment, the assistant was dumbfounded. What the heck was all this shaking about?
Wasn’t this a driving lesson?
Why was the car suddenly vibrating mid-lesson?
