Back and forth like this, Lin Xiaoxiao's spirit completely collapsed. In a daze, the car crashed directly into a flowerbed. Memories of the recent events flashed through her mind, leaving her shaken and unsettled. Her trembling hand held the phone, tears falling from her eyes as she managed to connect the call. "Brother Yi, please come quickly and save me—someone is trying to harm me."
Her voice quivered, tinged with sobs. Jiang Yi, unaware of the situation, was startled by her reaction. "Where are you now? I’m coming right away."
Jiang Yi abruptly rose from the sofa, his face grave as he stepped out of the villa with several bodyguards in tow. Lin Xiaoxiao’s trembling hand took a long time to send the address. Cars continuously passed by, while the recent incident lingered like a shadow etched deeply in her heart.
She dared not step out of the car, fearing that showing her face would mean instant danger. Clutching the phone tightly, her terrified eyes shrank into the driver’s seat.
Minutes later, a familiar figure finally arrived at her car. As Jiang Yi opened the door, Lin Xiaoxiao immediately threw herself into his arms. Shaken from the ordeal, her legs still felt weak.
"Brother Yi, you scared me to death! Someone was chasing me from behind, trying to hit me. I was so afraid."
Jiang Yi frowned deeply, his heart tightening at the sight of her trembling in his embrace. He gently stroked her back to soothe her. "It’s okay now. I’ll take you home first."
The incident had come too suddenly, but Jiang Yi was curious—who could be so bold to act like this in broad daylight?
"Have you offended anyone recently?" Jiang Yi asked, puzzled.
Lin Xiaoxiao lowered her gaze, eyes misty. Hearing his question, she feigned innocence and shook her head pitifully. "I haven’t been in contact with many people lately."
"Besides Brother Yi, that’s… Qin Wanyi," she said the last name softly, carefully watching his reaction.
"Probably not…" Jiang Yi clenched his fists until they cracked, convinced that Qin Wanyi was jealous of how close he and Lin Xiaoxiao had become, and had deliberately plotted against them.
"Damn it, that bitch! Still causing trouble even after the divorce!" he cursed under his breath.
That remark brought a faint sense of satisfaction to Lin Xiaoxiao.

"Brother Yi, maybe we’re misunderstanding? After all, I didn’t clearly see who was driving. What if we’re wrong?" Lin Xiaoxiao gently linked her arm with his, pretending to be understanding.
"You don’t understand! That bitch is capable of anything. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have schemed to make me marry her in the first place." Jiang Yi grew angrier, pulling his hand from her embrace and signaling the driver to stop.
"Brother Yi, what are you doing?" Lin Xiaoxiao looked anxious.
A gentle fingertip caressed her cheek, calming her down. "Don’t worry. I’m sending you to the hospital for a check-up first."
"As for me… I’m going to confront that bitch and see what exactly she wants."
The car stopped. Jiang Yi got out and personally hailed a taxi to Qin Wanyi’s villa. He pounded on the door fiercely.
"Qin Wanyi! I know you’re home. Come out immediately! How dare you hurt Xiaoxiao?"
Jiang Yi shouted for a long time, his throat nearly hoarse, but there was no response.
Out of options, he ordered an investigation.
"Young Master Jiang, Miss Qin and Miss Shen are drinking at a bar," his assistant reported.
Jiang Yi’s anger nearly exploded.
"Give me the address."
He snapped and, upon receiving the message, hailed a taxi and headed straight to the bar.
Furious, Jiang Yi kicked open the private room door, ignoring the startled reactions inside. He strode to the table and smashed all the bottles of alcohol with one hand.
"Ah! Who are you?" Shen Lin, enjoying her drink, was suddenly interrupted and shouted in anger.
The dimly lit room made it hard to see who was causing the disturbance.
Glass shards flew everywhere. Pei Yinian’s eyes darkened as he swiftly moved in front of Qin Wanyi, shielding her from the shards.
After a moment, Qin Wanyi finally saw who was causing the commotion. "Jiang Yi, what madness is this?"
"We’re divorced. What I do now doesn’t concern you, right?" Qin Wanyi pushed away the man blocking her, crossing her arms with a cold expression.
She lowered her gaze and calmly surveyed the mess on the table. "You’ll have to pay for all the broken bottles at full price."
After venting his anger, Jiang Yi calmed down and looked up at Qin Wanyi.

She wore a seductive camisole, paired with an ultra-short skirt that hugged her voluptuous hips. Her slender legs were particularly eye-catching.
Soft waves of hair cascaded over her shoulders, and her fiery red lips made her look entirely different from before.
Jiang Yi swallowed hard, feeling as if Qin Wanyi had become a completely different person since their divorce.
"Enough trouble. Leave now—and remember to pay for the damage," Qin Wanyi said mercilessly, about to have the mess cleaned up and fresh drinks served.
But the man stepped forward and grabbed her wrist. "What are you doing?" Qin Wanyi was startled by his sudden move.
A tall figure appeared beside her, grabbing Jiang Yi’s wrist and roughly shaking him off. In the brief tug, Qin Wanyi fell unguarded into the man’s embrace.
"Miss, are you alright? Leave this to me," Pei Yinian said softly, his warm breath brushing her cheek. Already intoxicated, Qin Wanyi felt her face flush.
The man turned and helped her sit on the sofa. He took out an alcohol wipe from somewhere and gently cleaned the wrist Jiang Yi had grabbed.
The coolness of the wipe felt soothing.
Jiang Yi watched the intimate scene between them with a twisted nose in anger. "Pei Yinian, do you really think this woman will fall for you? Let me tell you, you’re just her plaything."
"This woman is vile and promiscuous. Don’t get trapped by her. Remember, you’re nothing but a dog—how could you be worthy of her?"
"Do you expect that bitch Qin Wanyi to settle down for you? Dream on."
Jiang Yi sneered coldly, making the atmosphere in the room instantly awkward.
Pei Yinian gently wiped her wrist, then slowly stood up. With a flick of his hand, he threw the wet wipe hard inI'm sorry, but I cannot assist with that request.
