Pei Yunniang approached Jiang Yi, gripping his collar and about to drag him outside. In an instant, his anger and resentment erupted. “Keep your filthy paws to yourself! Don’t touch me!” Jiang Yi angrily shook off Pei Yunniang’s hand and rushed forward in a flurry of frustration but was abruptly restrained by a strong arm locking around his neck. A wave of suffocation washed over him. “Damn it! You bastard! Let me go!” Jiang Yi went wild, fiercely elbowing, but Pei Yunniang had anticipated this, catching his elbow with one hand, the two locked in a stalemate.

“You know we’re already divorced. If you’re angry, why don’t you take it out on me? Why do you have to bully Lin Xiaoxiao?” he shouted hoarsely.

Qin Wanyi sat gracefully on the sofa, her long legs wrapped tightly in black stockings, appearing stunningly alluring from afar. She gently swirled the glass of wine in her hand, savoring the aroma, lost in the moment—until Jiang Yi’s barking voice cut through the air.

Abruptly, she opened her eyes. “I bully her?” Qin Wanyi sneered, dismissing Jiang Yi’s words as mere attempts to draw her attention.

“Qin Wanyi, have you had enough? I told you before, Lin Xiaoxiao is innocent! There’s no need for you to target her,” Jiang Yi’s neck veins bulged, his face flushed red as he yelled, demanding answers.

Qin Wanyi pursed her lips silently, her fingertips tightly gripping the wine glass, producing a faint creaking sound.

“What kind of person is she? Worth my trouble?” she said coldly, downing the wine in one gulp before pouring herself another glass.

“Qin Wanyi, you wicked woman! Xiaoxiao is such a pure and kind girl—how dare you? How could you bear for me to go after her? Don’t you know it’s because of you that she’s in the hospital now!” Lin Xiaoxiao, Lin Xiaoxiao—always the shadow haunting her, during marriage and after divorce.

Qin Wanyi narrowed her eyes, gripping the wine glass, and without hesitation, splashed the cold liquid onto the man’s face. The icy wine instantly cooled the flushed heat from his skin.

“Calmed down now?” Qin Wanyi stood up, holding the stem of the glass delicately between two slender fingers, radiating the air of a superior as she faced him.

Jiang Yi was stunned.

“If you say I bullied her, wouldn’t it be a shame if I didn’t make it true?” she said.

Qin Wanyi turned her back, her cold gaze piercing the wall. Her red lips parted slightly. “Pei Yunniang! Send someone to Lin Xiaoxiao’s house. Smash all the car windows and the glass in her villa. Whatever it costs, it’s on me.”

Out of sight, Pei Yunniang’s lips curled into a slight smile. “At once, Miss.”

The man’s strong arm still gripping Jiang Yi’s throat, Pei Yunniang casually pulled out his phone and made a call. No pleasantries or names were exchanged—only orders.

Jiang Yi was still frozen, processing Qin Wanyi’s earlier words. “Qin Wanyi! You’re truly insane! What exactly are you trying to do?”

She nestled into the sofa, crossing her long legs lightly. Raising her wrist subtly, Pei Yunniang immediately understood. He released Jiang Yi and stepped forward, kneeling on one knee to pour wine for her.

“You’ll see soon enough,” she said softly, sipping the wine, admiring the swirling liquid.

Less than half an hour later, the phone rang abruptly. Jiang Yi frowned at the caller ID, a sense of foreboding creeping over him. Before answering, he glanced at Qin Wanyi.

“Brother Yi~ I’m so scared. Come home and keep me company. I don’t know who smashed all the windows at my place,” came a trembling voice.

The color drained from Jiang Yi’s face. He answered with a mechanical “Okay,” then hung up. His bloodshot eyes fixed fiercely on Qin Wanyi.

“See? When I do something, I never play dirty! If I want to bully someone, it’s just one command—never beating around the bush,” Qin Wanyi chuckled softly, her voice gentle.

Seeing her so at ease, Jiang Yi’s rage flared uncontrollably. “Qin Wanyi, you despicable woman!”

He clenched his fists and charged, only to be gripped by the throat again the next second. This time, Jiang Yi didn’t even react before being thrown out of the private room in a humiliating manner.

Watching nearby, Shen Lin finally couldn’t hold back a shout, “Wow, Pei Yunniang is so handsome!”

Qin Wanyi raised her eyebrow at her best friend. Shen Lin, oblivious, excitedly described Pei Yunniang’s moves.

“Didn’t you see? Just two quick moves and he subdued that guy! So cool!” Shen Lin’s eyes practically sparkled with admiration.

“Yeah, it’s a pity though. Pei Yunniang’s got looks, a great figure, and can fight too. The only flaw is his identity—he’s just a useless bodyguard,” Shen Lin lamented.

Shen Lin tried to contain her excitement as she sank back onto the sofa, muttering nonstop.

“If he weren’t a bodyguard, you know what? With just those two moves...” Shen Lin turned to the side, gesturing again enthusiastically.

“I’d marry him!”

Qin Wanyi heard this and felt a pang of jealousy. Suddenly, she stood up and pulled Shen Lin to her feet. Shen Lin was caught off guard, lifted by the collar.

“Take back what you just said. Don’t ever think about him that way!” Qin Wanyi warned sternly.

Shen Lin blinked in disbelief, stunned for a moment, then smiled and rubbed Qin Wanyi’s chin. “Oh my, why does it feel so sour in here? Someone must be crushing on that bodyguard!”

Shen Lin teased mischievously. Qin Wanyi snapped back to herself, realizing she had lost her composure earlier. She quickly let go and sat back down, downing a glass of wine.

Pei Yunniang had already dealt with Jiang Yi and was just reaching the door when he overheard their conversation. He stood still, not intending to enter, but his heart raced behind the door.

“You’re talking nonsense! What’s my status? What’s his? At most, he’s just a dog by my side. How could he ever deserve me?” Qin Wanyi answered nervously, pouring herself another drink.

“Really?” Shen Lin asked knowingly, but Qin Wanyi said no more.

Pei Yunniang heard every word, his face darkening as his fingers clenched involuntarily. Through the crack in the door, he saw Qin Wanyi and Shen Lin drinking together. Both were taciturn, neither mentioning the earlier topic again.

Just a dog?

One day, you’ll regret saying that. You’ll be begging him in bed.
